Responsibilities
Abstract and code a wide range of medical data from the EMR in compliance with established data standards
Maintain a thorough understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and cancer treatment protocols
Ensure adherence to data management protocols as set forth by state and national requirements
Participate in the development of coding policies and procedures and solve complex coding problems
Perform additional related duties as required

Required
An Associate's Degree in CRM or CIM preferred for those certified on or after 2015
Minimum of two years of experience as a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) in a hospital or central tumor registry
Certified Tumor Registrar certification is required
Proficient in Facility Oncology Registry Data Standards (FORDS), ICD-O coding, and AJCC TNM
Excellent organizational, investigative, and communication skills
Preferred
Five years of experience as a CTR is preferred
Working knowledge of Metriq Registry software
Familiarity with EPIC EMR
