Responsibilities

Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation systems, and more within a campus.

Identifying and implementing OM&R Strategies for safe and efficient building operations.

Executing quality control audits and inspections, providing technical assistance and training, and performing hands-on repair work.

Managing relationships with team members, contractors, clients, and customers, scheduling work, and conducting performance management.

Ensuring safety practices, recognizing and mitigating risks, and providing proper PPE for tasks.

Training and coaching a workforce on building operations, maintenance, and repair.

Completing repairs and maintenance on various building systems using industry standard tools and in compliance with regulations.

Providing customer service and meeting quality standards.

Performing all other assigned duties and tasks.

Required

Diploma or GED

Comparable work experience

Vocation degree program, apprenticeship

Higher Education (i.e. College or University)

5 Years Trade experience

3 Years Engineering experience

Applicable codes, laws, and regulations

NFPA 70E

OSHA 10

OSHA 30 or higher

Possess hands on skills and knowledge to complete required repairs and maintenance on commercial Building and Building Systems (including but not limited to: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Vertical Transportation, Life Safety, Roofs, Structure, Parking lots and roads) using industry standard tools and in accordance with all codes, laws, and regulations

Perform preventive maintenance and repair service work on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and various other building systems to maintain the properties in peak operational condition

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

Ability to effectively use computers and computer programs (including use of Microsoft Office Suite)

Skill in use of the internet to navigate to and use web-based applications

Ability to work with CMMS, ABS, and BMS programs

Ability to use handheld electronic devices (PDA, Blackberry, cell phone, etc.)

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar

Possess excellent communications skills, both written and verbal

Ability to create, modify and edit processes, procedures, and reports

EPA Certification

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Ability to bend, sit, kneel, squat, stand, reach, and lay as required to access equipment components for extended periods of time

Ability to work exposed to heat, sunlight, rain, cold, heights about six feet, daylight and nighttime hours as required
