Responsibilities

Review claims edits from various source systems, ensuring timely and accurate processing
Prepare materials for claims denials by researching coding and payer guidelines
Assign appropriate CPT/PCS and ICD-10 codes for surgery reservations
Resolve coding disputes from the Customer Service department
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding regulations and standards

Required

Associate's Degree in Health Information Management (HIM)
4+ years of ICD-10 coding experience, preferably in a large academic medical center
3+ years of experience with hospital revenue accounting, billing, reimbursement, and/or patient accounting
Expertise in surgical/procedure coding
Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management (HIM)
Experience working directly with physicians and other healthcare professionals
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification
