Responsibilities

Providing guidance and assistance to voting/consulting staff, allied health staff, attorneys, paraprofessionals, and other parties, both internally and externally, in responding to and resolving legal matters affecting Mayo Clinic
Conducting research and analyzing statutes and regulations
Conducting interviews and investigations
Leading meetings with internal staff, clients and external parties
Collecting and summarizing documentation
Organizing legal cases or files
Drafting communications and other legal documents
Process creation
Conflict resolution
Providing direction of work delegated to support staff
Serving on institutional committees and task forces in partnership with legal counsel
Responding to inquiries from Human Resources and a diverse group of Mayo Clinic personnel
Providing guidance on performance management and corrective action
Discrimination and retaliation
Personnel file management
Employment-related agreements
Wage and hour issues
Non-attorney client privilege investigations
Preparation of immigration documentation, including petitions and applications
Serving as a subject matter expert on H-1B, J-1, TN, and E-3 regulatory concerns
