Responsibilities
Performing research to better understand the context of the contract
Editing previously developed contracts according to new information or advice
Reviewing contract breaches and determining a response plan
Maintaining an understanding of local and federal regulations that may affect contracts
Supervising the execution of contracts to ensure all parties fulfill their obligations
Updating contract templates to reflect new policies and/or laws
Researching legal guidelines and ensuring the foundation remains compliant
Negotiating contracts with vendors such as venues, transportation services, business-to-business (B2B) partners, entertainment or other service providers, and food and beverage suppliers
Proofreading contracts, proposals, and legal documents, ensuring all language is clear, accurate, and appropriate
Coordinating with the legal team and revising contract drafts per their recommendations
Providing feedback and legal advice to Foundation chapters regarding their fundraising events
Escalating issues to the Chief Legal Officer if necessary
Working in collaboration with internal stakeholders and effectively communicating and managing priorities at all levels, including working with our C-suite
Other duties or special projects as required

Required
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Admission to a state bar
At least 3 years of experience working in a law firm or corporate office
Excellent writing and reading comprehension skills
Negotiation, analytical skills, and customer service
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Attention to detail and time management
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
