Responsibilities
Responsible for developing innovative hard surface products for commercial flooring, through all phases of design, from concept to launch. This includes trend research, concept development, prototyping, building out artwork, color development, production set-up, and supporting the execution of product launch materials and sales training.
Manage the design process to ensure key dates, deliverables, and product launch dates are met.
Define design and color direction based on market requirements, research, experience, and knowledge to lead in design and performance in target markets.
Travel for market research and feedback, customer visits and presentations, and participation in industry events and trade shows. Overnight travel is required.
Collaborate with the Fabrication team and Vendor partners in the following functional areas: product and pattern design, color line development, fabrication of new styles, administration and issuance of all new product specifications.
Collaborate with the Design and Marketing teams to meet Patcraft brand objectives in order to meet overall brand and business goals.
Dynamically present and communicate product design vision and directions and product offerings to clients (in the marketplace and during mill tours), sales, and management.
Build relationships with Sourcing to understand supplier requirements and platforms.
Develop an understanding of suppliers’ capabilities to better inform product development across different market sectors.

Required
Four-year college degree and/or advanced degree: Graphic Design, Fine art, Illustration, Textiles and/or design-related experience.
Must have excellent knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
Working knowledge of pattern design and various printing methods including gravure (intaglio) and digital printing.
Must excel in working both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Ability to travel, including international travel.
Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Exhibit a keen design sensibility with an understanding of pattern, color principles and attention to detail.
