Responsibilities
Process and manage multi-state, bi-monthly payroll for employees, in addition to handling monthly subcontractor payroll and 1099 payments.
Ensure accuracy by reconciling employee timesheet data with payroll records to maintain consistency and compliance.
Oversee payroll operations for a large and diverse workforce, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of wages.
Maintain comprehensive payroll records and ensure all data is up-to-date and securely stored.
Manage payroll tax reconciliations on a bi-monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Support payroll-related communications and collaborate with state agencies to ensure full compliance with all payroll laws and regulations.

Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in processing and filing payroll for multi-state operations, ensuring compliance with varied state regulations.
Strong knowledge of multi-state tax laws and employee benefit structures.
Demonstrated ability to develop, refine, and implement payroll processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Proven track record in identifying and executing process improvements that drive greater accuracy and streamline payroll workflows.
Proficient in navigating payroll platforms to process payments, manage deductions, and resolve discrepancies.
Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all payroll functions.
Preferred
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
Other payroll or accounting certifications are a plus.
Proficient in payroll software (e.g., Unanet & Paylocity)
Experience in government contracting with a strong understanding of compliance requirements and industry-specific regulations.
