Responsibilities
Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and identify opportunity for process improvements within Systems Operations Engineering.
Review and analyze basic or tactical Systems Operations Engineering assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives, related to low-to-medium risk deliverables.
Present recommendations for resolving low to moderately complex situations and exercise some independent judgment while developing understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Provide information to client personnel in Systems Operations Engineering.

Required
Understanding of the overall PeopleSoft architecture, including the database, application server, web server, and process scheduler.
Proficiency in database management systems like Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2.
Ability to perform tasks such as database backups, restores, and performance tuning.
Familiarity with operating systems such as Unix, Linux, and Windows.
Knowledge of system administration and shell scripting.
Expertise in PeopleTools, the proprietary development environment for PeopleSoft applications.
Knowledge of PeopleCode, Application Engine, Integration Broker, Component Interfaces, and other PeopleTools components.
Skills in monitoring system performance and tuning PeopleSoft applications for optimal performance.
Use of monitoring tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager, and PeopleSoft Performance Monitor.
Management of application and web servers, including WebLogic, Tuxedo, and WebSphere.
Understanding of load balancing, clustering, and failover techniques.
Implementation of security measures, including user access control, roles, permissions, and encryption.
Experience with applying patches, fixes, and upgrades to PeopleSoft applications and tools.
Knowledge of PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM).
Knowledge of integration techniques and tools, including REST/SOAP web services, and SFTP.
Familiarity with integration middleware like Oracle SOA Suite.
Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Ability to analyze system logs, performance data, and other information to make informed decisions.
