Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, validation, and deployment of perception systems for autonomous tractors.
Define the software and hardware architecture of the perception system, and work with partner teams on critical interfaces.
Collaborate with teams across John Deere to integrate new and existing solutions.
Manage a growing Perception team and own the long-term Perception roadmap and strategy.
Work with engineering and product stakeholders to identify and meet safety and performance requirements.
Coordinate with engineering operations on data collection, testing, and field validation.

Required
8+ years of relevant professional experience
Led technical projects involving small- to medium-sized teams
Highly experienced in algorithmic development for perception stacks (LIDAR, Camera, etc.)
Deployed perception stacks to robots, autonomous vehicles, or other real-time systems
Experience with deep learning development and deployment in a production environment
Familiarity with ML operations and data curation best practices
Strong software development skills in C++ and Python
Knowledgeable in software engineering best practices and tools
Knowledgeable in ROS/ROS 2 or similar robotics middleware
M.S. / PhD (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering or similar field
Preferred
Prior management experience is preferred but not required
Direct experience with sensors is preferred
