Responsibilities
Develop design packages for pipelines as directed by the project engineer
Prepare engineering plans, profiles, and details for pipelines
Model 3D surfaces representing various engineering features
Prepare conceptual plans for proposals and reports
Collaborate with engineering and environmental staff
Produce maps from topographic data
Maintain base files for pipeline designs
Ensure technical quality of designs
Research and compile publicly available data for CAD files
Review and format survey data
Work with cross-functional teams and technicians
Complete training on assigned tasks
Adhere to company's Code of Conduct and policies
Perform additional responsibilities as required

Required
High School Diploma.
Minimum of 3 year of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior drafting and design support experience.
Familiar with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Proficiency with Blue Sky Alignment Sheets Software
Knowledge in the design of Oil and Gas pipelines or linear utility systems
Advanced skills in core technical areas of related software applications
Detail-oriented and highly organized
Ability to prioritize and respond to the needs of multiple projects and managers
Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
Collaborate as a valued member of a multi-disciplinary team to execute projects that meet or exceed client expectations
Strong sense and commitment to CAD standards and procedures
Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a scientific and non-scientific audience.
Competent self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred
Associate’s Degree, Two-year Certificate or Diploma from an accredited technical school or college in CADD/Engineering Technology
Understanding of design criteria and 3D modelling applications
Ability to develop design packages associated with linear pipelines for the Oil and Gas Industry
Good problem solver with ability to identify alternative solutions
Ability to Compile 3D models of structures, equipment, piping, and terrain
Ability to work with some or all the following software: ArcGIS and other ESRI products, CAD Worx, AutoCAD Plant 3D, AutoCAD Map, Raster Design, AutoCAD Visual Basic for Applications
