Responsibilities

Review fire protection, fire alarm, and plumbing design documents for tenant projects (TAA) and design audit, and project processing for transportation facilities (PA) facilities to ensure compliance with applicable building codes and transportation technical standards.

Downloading the electronic TAA submissions, previewing construction documents, hydraulic calculations, specifications, and reports for completeness with codes and standards

Coordinating the review comments from others technical disciplines and preparing memoranda for transmitting comments to the line departments.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in engineering

Minimum of 3/5 years of diverse experience in fire protection and plumbing systems design

Experience designing Plumbing & Fire Protection systems on various project type

Knowledge of applicable construction codes and reference standards in New York City, New York State, and State of New Jersey

Proper understanding of engineering disciplines related to building design and construction of transportation and related facilities

E.I.T or F.E

Knowledge of International Mechanical Code, Plumbing Code and Fire Code

Experience in ASME B31.1 Power Piping/ ASME B3.9 Building Services Piping Designs

Experience in NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems
