Responsibilities
Providing legal and policy advice to the Director, Chief Deputy Director, Deputy Directors, and programs of the DMHC.
Recommending and developing necessary and appropriate statutes and regulations to administer the Knox-Keene Act.
Analyzing the Knox-Keene Act and ensuring that the DMHC fulfills its regulatory functions.
Performing the more sensitive and complex legal work of the DMHC.
Interpreting the laws contained within the Knox-Keene Act to ensure compliance with relevant California and federal law.

Required
Active Membership in CA State Bar License
Experience in managed care models
Experience in researching and applying health care laws, regulations, and policies
Experience in California administrative law consistent with the Administrative Procedures Act
Experience analyzing, interpreting, and implementing pending and newly enacted legislation
Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects with short term deadlines
Experience working as a licensed attorney in public and/or private sectors
Proficient knowledge of the English language including spelling, grammar, and organization
Preferred
Coursework and/or training in managed care models
Coursework and/or training in health care law
