Responsibilities

Develop and execute research projects focusing on NK cell responses to HIV using humanized mice and human specimens.
Independently work and collaborate in a team environment, paying attention to detail and adhering to deadlines.
Perform experiments using humanized mice with a competent immune system and human specimens.
Develop experimental protocols, troubleshoot protocols, and plan experiment setups for data collection and analysis.
Conduct sterile tissue culture and in vitro assays, as well as multiparameter/digital flow cytometry and data analysis.
Utilize standard molecular biology and biochemical techniques, along with BSL-2 laboratory techniques and animal model experience.
Publish peer-reviewed first author publications and complete required training courses.

Required

PhD in immunology, virology, or a related life science field, or a DVM or a related degree.
Advanced immunology and NK cell biology expertise
Experience with humanized mouse models of HIV disease
Sterile tissue culture and in vitro assays (killing assays, viral suppression assays, proliferation assays, etc.)
Experience with multiparameter/digital flow cytometry and data analysis
Standard molecular biology and biochemical techniques
At least 2 years of BSL-2 laboratory techniques and BSL-2 animal model experience
Peer-reviewed first author publications resulting from graduate training

Preferred

~ 3 years of postdoctoral experience
Peer-reviewed first author publications from graduate training and postdoctoral training if applicable
Positions require successful completion of required training courses, i.e. animal use, BL-2 safety, and general lab and chemical safety training.
