Responsibilities
Project(s) as defined by host site organization and the Great Lakes PTTC
Training
Ongoing learning and capacity development activities
Training and work experience geared toward becoming a certified prevention specialist, including successfully passing the Prevention Specialist certification exam
Mentoring
Site Mentor - Fellows will receive mentorship from prevention staff by host site organization and will be exposed to the day-to-day workings of the site.
PTTC Mentor - A mentor funded by the PTTCs will provide guidance and training regarding the Black/African American substance misuse primary prevention.
Great Lakes PTTC Mentors – Great Lakes PTTC staff members will provide ongoing guidance and training on substance misuse primary prevention.

Required
Experience working or volunteering in Black/African American communities.
Commitment to understanding and learning how to provide substance misuse primary prevention services that are culturally responsive for Black/African American communities.
Must live in the Great Lakes region (IN, IL, MI, MN, OH, WI).
Preferred
Recent college graduates or early career professionals with experience in substance misuse primary prevention and/or public health initiatives.
