Responsibilities
Work across various disciplines of within our Data team, including:
Design, develop, and maintain core catalog data ingestion and processing pipelines, utilizing cloud-based services for scalability and performance.
Implement and optimize machine learning processes to enhance personalized recommendation systems.
Build and maintain a search infrastructure that allows users to search across all released music on Earth, ensuring high performance and accuracy.
Design, develop, deploy, and operate data-driven services that deliver personalized music experiences directly and indirectly to end-users.
Acquire and apply deep domain knowledge of musical content to enhance user-facing features.
Take full responsibility for the quality of user-facing data, ensuring accuracy, performance, and reliability across all services.
Bring fresh ideas and new approaches to the team, driving continuous improvement and innovation.

Required
8+ years of experience in backend engineering, with a focus on data engineering, machine learning, or related fields.
Concrete experience working with data processing, ETLs, and an understanding of best practices for handling large datasets.
Experience working with modern infrastructure tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services at scale.
Expertise in C# and Python, with a strong foundation in writing efficient, maintainable code for large-scale systems.
Familiarity with Unix-like environments and proficiency with databases, ensuring smooth interactions between your code and underlying systems.
A good understanding of networking, not just in theory but in practice, particularly in how systems communicate.
A commitment to sound engineering practices, including testing, performance optimization, resource management, and concurrency handling.
Hands-on experience with batch processing environments, ensuring data is handled efficiently.
Experience delivering and maintaining high-performance, reliable services in production environments.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
Experience in a Virtual or Remote work environment in any US time zone.
A passion for delivering top-notch audio experiences to users and an interest in the audio technology domain.
