Responsibilities

Build cloud service on top of the modern Infrastructure as Service (IaaS) building blocks at Oracle

Design and build distributed, scalable, fault-tolerant software systems

Participate in the entire software lifecycle – development, testing, CI, and production operations

Balance between product feature development and production operational concerns like writing run books, ops automation, structured logging, instrumentation for metrics and events

Leverage a plethora of internal tooling at OCI to develop, build, deploy, and solve software

Participate in on-call for the service with the team

Resolve issues when they arise

Required

Prior experience working on distributed systems at a cloud service provider

Proficient in one or more of Java, C#, C/C++ and/or Python

Experienced at building highly available services, possessing knowledge of common design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols

Familiar with components of modern infrastructure like service discovery, secret storage, software-defined networking, etc.

Experience with production operations and good practices for putting quality code in production and solving issues when they arise

Take initiative and be responsible for delivering complex software by working effectively with the team and other partners

Feel at home communicating technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations)

Preferred

Production experience with Cloud and ML technologies

Experience working in Decision Support vertical: Anomaly Detection, fraud detection, time series forecasting, Recommendation systems, Personalizer

Experience with Algorithms: K-means, Fourier transformation, Statistical hypothesis, SVM, Kernel Regression, LSTM, State Estimation Technique

Data science and machine learning knowledge

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
