Responsibilities

Defines Cloud application architectures to support business goals and strategies and documents models using standard industry modeling tools.

Conducts vendor analysis and proof-of-concepts/prototypes for new technologies/solutions.

Brings in-depth knowledge of Cloud application development in designing, coding, testing, and debugging programs.

Develops programming and development standards promoting code/service reuse.

Develops, manages, and implements AWS Cloud Application technology roadmap and portfolio.

Designs new and enhanced application functionality according to established standards and mentors others in design, development, and testing.

Communicates effectively with various stakeholders including developers, infrastructure architects, business analysts, and senior management.

Performs code and design reviews for adherence to standards and provides recommendations. Participates in application deployments and checkouts.

Works on multiple high priority projects and may serve in a project management role on certain programs.

Researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business. Acts as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent.

Actively participates in team meetings and supports teammates. Encourages innovation, implementation of innovative technologies, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.

Required

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Information Systems, Engineering, or other related discipline and 7+ years of relevant experience. Or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

5 + years of experience creating complex transactional web applications as a Cloud Application Architect.

At least 3 years in-depth experience and demonstrated proficiency developing applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies.

AWS Certified Solution Architect, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and/or AWS Certified Developer certifications a plus

Experience working as part of an agile cross-functional team (team-based mentality).

Proficiency in architecting complex transactional Cloud applications that use front end technologies such as React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS. Experience with YAML, JSON.

Development and architecture experience in AWS Cloud environments.

Ability to evaluate and prioritize projects from both a financial and operational perspective. Strong understanding of corporate strategies and goals as related to technology initiatives and the ability to align the two.

Experience building REST API’s, Java, Spring Boot

Experience with source code repositories such as GIT (AWS Code Commit)

Experience with relational databases (Oracle) including SQL/PLSQL/Procedures/Triggers
