Responsibilities

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures.
You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others.
Java Security Engineering team is responsible for the Java platform security libraries and security tools development.
The technologies we provide include a rich set of APIs, tools, and implementations of security algorithms and protocols.
The Java security APIs span a wide range of areas, including cryptography, public key infrastructure, secure communication, and authentication.
We provide the developers with a comprehensive security framework for writing secure applications, and tools for the users or administrators to securely manage applications.
We are looking for a crypto expert to join our team to enhance our existing algorithm implementation and add new functionality to the Java platform for the upcoming releases.
Knowledge of TLS is preferred, including in-depth knowledge of state of the art ciphersuites.
Other desirable knowledge includes authentication, PKI, and low-level crypto algorithm implementation.
Acceptable candidate must have proven hands-on experience in modern software security technologies using Java, knowledge of Java security library internals would be a plus.
Please do not apply if you only have introductory or peripheral knowledge in Java security or cannot develop using the latest version of Java independently.
Please provide details of your work in these area including any publications.
You should also have experience with GitHub, and extensive experience in writing unit and regression tests.
Other qualities include team player, strong verbal and written communications as we are a global team.

Required

BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
7 years of software engineering or related experience.
Proven hands-on experience in modern software security technologies using Java.
Experience with GitHub.
Extensive experience in writing unit and regression tests.
Strong verbal and written communications.

Preferred

Knowledge of TLS is preferred, including in-depth knowledge of state of the art ciphersuites.
Other desirable knowledge includes authentication, PKI, and low-level crypto algorithm implementation.
Knowledge of Java security library internals would be a plus.
