Responsibilities

Work with teams across Observability to design and build scalable, high-performance services that are highly reliable

Lead by example in delivering high quality code that is maintainable, performant, testable and used across our services

Mentor others to produce extensible and maintainable code

Explore new areas and work on special projects to push the boundaries of Observability

Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, advancements in service health, and identify opportunities for innovation

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Rust or Go

OR equivalent experience

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, Rust, or Go

OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, Rust, or Go

OR equivalent experience

Experience with high-scale distributed systems design and implementation

Experience with microservices architecture, Kubernetes, Linux, Open Telemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and related technologies is a plus

AI/ML experience is a plus

Experience with building observability systems is a plus
