Responsibilities

Coordinate with Architects, other departments, and stakeholders to lead and manage technical projects from conception to completion.
Regularly attend meetings to discuss projects, issues, and ideas and work with teams to plan, prioritize, and complete project assignments.
Participate in the planning of engineering strategies for company.
Provide design reviews and gives technical recommendations.
Develop and provide technical standards and guidance to design and create a dependable, scalable, and maintainable infrastructure.
Proactively identifies opportunities to reuse or generalize existing solutions and architectures and avoid duplication of effort by encouraging collaboration.
Ensure that all projects are of high quality and that team members follow established standards.
Stay current with new and emerging system standards and technology in general as it relates to the needs of the company.
Recommend new technologies to help improve efficiency and implement process improvements.
Supports and facilitates in maintenance and upgrades of existing software.
Participates in risk assessments and mitigating activities, technical audits, and ensure recommendations are implemented.
Provide input to help shape infrastructure standards and implementation of best practices.
Participate in the development of individual contributor goals within department.
Manage tasks and resources while utilizing modern project management principles.
Mentor and train other engineers by distilling complex technical designs into step by step instructions.
Identify opportunities to innovate across teams with a willingness to experiment and to confront problems of varying degrees of complexity and scope.
Guide discussions to remove blockers and encourage collaboration amongst teams.
Monitor and assess the performance of the engineering team.
Assist with analyzing and troubleshooting application and system issues.
Participate in developing technical solutions which support architectural changes that solve performance and stability issues.
Prioritize projects and assess their financial impact.
Provide feedback, conduct quarterly goal reviews, and annual performance reviews.
All other duties as assigned.

Required

High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
10+ years of information technology systems experience in an applicable area

Understand how to establish the value and cost of an IT project
Advanced understanding of change management and the change control process and procedures
Ability to lead and get results from others while prioritizing high urgency and complex tasks
Strong ability to articulate advanced technical, write technical documentation, and teach others
Expert knowledge in systems debugging and testing knowledge, complex computer systems (multiple programs, databases, communications etc.), and systems analysis and design
Exceptional problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Must be able to learn independently but also work well in a team environment
Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and on call rotations

Preferred

A bachelor’s of science in a technology related field
Advanced understanding of financial methods to evaluate ROI of IT projects
Advanced education in leadership and teambuilding with the ability to motivate and inspire others
Advanced skills in Project Management and Business Analysis
Advanced technical training or certifications related to scope of work
