Responsibilities
Collect, analyze, and use operational data to drive process improvements.
Identify and evaluate the feasibility of new technological developments and best practices.
Recommend solutions for applying best practices in operations, including supporting Capital Budget projects.
Assist in developing and improving operational practices and SOP’s using sound engineering principles.
Provide hands-on oversight and management of projects during planned and unplanned outages.
Assume supervisory responsibilities within the Pulpmill when required.
Assume weekend call-out responsibilities on a scheduled, rotational basis.

Required
B.S in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Pulp and Paper Science is preferred. Other technical disciplines will be considered with relevant experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
An ability to work with both salaried and hourly operations and maintenance staff.
An ability to learn and adapt to changing operational situations.
An ability to work in an operating environment that includes heat, humidity, noise and lab and process chemicals.
Confident, growth-oriented professional ready to accept challenging responsibilities with a positive attitude.
