Responsibilities

Lead product quality and process capability improvement initiatives.

Work effectively with diverse teams to influence operators, mechanics, management, and business leadership to support improved business results.

Utilize data and statistical methodologies for process improvements.

Support improvement projects, day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and capital projects.

Train personnel, enhance operator capability, and participate in Incident Investigations and Process Hazards Analysis.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent.

3-8 years’ experience as a chemical engineer.

Experience with high hazard chemical manufacturing.

Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferably with high hazard chemicals.

Experience with Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.

Experience managing capital projects from conception through implementation.

Proficiency in process simulation software preferred (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD).

Experience with PSM programs and compliance.

Demonstrated strengths in getting results, meeting commitments, problem solving and continuous improvement.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with or lead diverse teams including operators, mechanics, management, other engineers and leaders.

Due to the team setting in the plant and in the acid circuit, the engineer must have strong communication, critical thinking, leadership, teamwork, time management, and documentation skills.

Current and valid driver’s license.
