Procurement Data Engineer

Responsibilities
Designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) procurement data from various sources into a data warehouse or data lake
Conducting in-depth analysis of procurement data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement
Using a data validation tool kit to identify any errors or migration failure point
Performing data cleaning, transformation, and validation while ensuring the integrity of the procurement data
Developing and implementing automated data processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
Collaborating with IT and data engineering teams to implement process improvements, ensuring efficient data collection and management
Maintaining data documentation, including data definitions, processes, and technical specifications, for future reference
Adhering to procurement data governance policies and standards to ensure data security and compliance
Working with user groups to identify reporting issues/enhancements and document business requirements
Creating insightful visualizations (dashboards, reports) to communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders

Required
US Citizenship is required in addition to the ability to obtain and/or maintain a US Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Data Analyst with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
Strong data exchange experience using XML and Excel
Experience proactively troubleshooting data errors
Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and security best practices
Preferred
Understanding of DoD Procurement policies and procedures
