Responsibilities

Performs engineering project management tasks

Works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints provided by management

Create conceptual design models, renderings and 2D drawings as needed for new product development and marketing

Full design and development of new products/parts utilizing CAD software and manufacturing knowledge

Work with other team members and outside contractors as needed

Create design summary analysis for presentation to customers

Create product documentation packages

Analyze and document prototype builds and make design changes as needed

Performs thermal analysis of products using SolidWorks Flow Simulation software and physical testing apparatus

Responsible for design changes and improvements to existing products and implements changes based on approval from the Director of Engineering

Supports manufacturing with design changes and supporting documentation

Report on tasks and projects utilizing MS Planner project management tool

Document hours and allocate to appropriate customer/project using QuickBooks time tracking tool

Perform other assigned tasks as directed by management

Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes

Required

5+ years of recent experience designing in a CAD Software (3D modeling and 2D drawing creation)

High level of understanding of the following manufacturing techniques: Sheet metal fabrication, CNC punching, Laser cutting, Sheet metal bending, Die castings, Sand castings, Investment castings, Thermoforming/Vacuum forming, Injection molding

Understanding of tolerances as it relates to assemblies and manufacturing techniques

Ability to take direction and comprehend design feedback and intent

High level of organizational and analytical skills

Computer skills - Microsoft Office

Exemplary written, oral, and presentation skills

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (from an accredited college)

Mechanical engineering: 5 years (Required)
