Responsibilities
Design and develop products or product families.
Ensure production procedures efficiently utilize materials and personnel.
Test finished products for quality purposes and recommend changes to product specifications as necessary.
Work on projects related to axle engineering, including integration of front and rear axles into programs, supplier selection, and axle assembly designs.
Collaborate with Virtual Tools, CAE, and FEA engineers to validate designs.
Coordinate with Driveline Engineering and Chassis Engineering to assure axle assemblies are compatible with vehicle tuning requirements.
Collaborate with NVH experts to ensure axle designs meet noise and vibration limitations.
Work with axle suppliers to obtain mule and prototype designs.
Coordinate offsite axle test and development, analyze data, and resolve issues leading to design refinements.
Track and report prototype axle parts issues in vehicle builds and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate axle assembly parts for pilot vehicle builds and vehicle launch activities.
Manage axle supply base for adherence to corporate vehicle timing requirements.
