Responsibilities
Reads test procedures, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.
Reviews blueprints and BOM specification to compare to produced equipment.
Verifies dimensions on mechanical parts.
Tests functional performance of systems and subassemblies.
Performs mass spectrometer tests on equipment.
Pressure tests equipment and ensures equipment being tested is compatible with the maximum test pressure.
Reads dials or digital displays that indicate moisture analysis.
Examines joints to detect flaws, such as cracks, cold weld, spatter, and undercuts, using a flashlight and magnifying glass.
Compares results with specifications and records test data.
Analyzes test results on defective units to determine the cause of failure.
Confers with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems.
Devises test equipment setup to evaluate performance and operation of nonstandard or customer returned units.
Documents test results in accordance with established procedures.
Labels equipment with tags and serial numbers.
Prepares equipment for shipping with necessary end caps and bagging.
Keeps measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and scheduling repairs.

Required
Mass Spectrometer experience required
Blueprint reading capabilities
Ability to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers and computers
Attention to detail and time management skills
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Good written and verbal communications skills
Basic computer and math skills
Documentation and reporting skills
Minimum two years’ experience as Quality Inspector with Mass Spec experience
