Responsibilities

Develop and maintain current knowledge of codes and standards related to HVI Programs, ENERGY STAR, and the residential ventilation industry in general.
Assist in the development or refinement of testing procedures for new and existing certification programs.
Serve as a frontline contact, providing friendly, competent assistance to members and partners on issues related to HVI’s Certification program as well as the ENERGY STAR program.
Coordinate with program staff in the evaluation and approval of requests for product certification and/or verification. Analyze complex lab reports. Verify compliance of product performance with programmatic policy.
Prepare project status reports and presentations as required.
Participate in the development of strategies, tactics, and procedures to advance the code body and government acceptance of HVI’s Certification and Verification Programs.
Participate in maintaining compliance with ANSI/SCC accreditation requirements.
Coordinate with other staff on investigation activities involving programmatic violations, issues. Conduct regular industry research to identify programmatic violations; work collaboratively with manufacturers and distributors to resolve violations.
Assist program staff to ensure on-time publication of HVI’s Certified Products Directory.
Exhibit strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to quickly absorb and manage detailed information.
Utilize a strong working knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Professional to produce professional, accurate documents and publications.
Develop and utilize an advanced proficiency in Intuit QuickBase, including database structure improvement and report generation.
Look for more efficient ways to conduct HVI business by eliminating redundant or unnecessary tasks and through modification of processes within the scope of the position.
Organize tasks in logical sequences and identify required resources in advance of need.
Anticipate, identify and respond to problems and issues related to programmatic functions.
Develop intermediate level knowledge of association management, e.g., working with Boards, member recruitment and retention, antitrust and other pertinent laws.
Perform other duties as assigned by TPD, CPO, and CEO.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university preferred; bachelor’s degree in technical science discipline accepted with some background in engineering; also acceptable is an Associate of Science degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college, university or technical school; or a High School diploma and 2+ years' experience in administering or coordinating essential business functions.
Documented construction/ventilation industry experience including, but not limited to, ventilation equipment sizing, product selection, troubleshooting, air-balancing, installation, HVAC, air movement and/or heat transfer preferred.
The ability to communicate clearly and professionally through verbal, written and electronic means.
Unswerving attention to detail.
Prior experience in association management or ability to successfully complete CEO’s prescribed training regimen within the allotted timeframe (generally two years).
Successful individuals will be highly self-motivated and comfortable working from a home office and communicating with co-workers and clients via email, telephone and video conferencing.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Preferred

Desired experience in Intuit QuickBase or similar database.
