Responsibilities
Adopt engineering modifications and new designs that allow for a more efficient level of plant operation.
Monitor building and equipment for potential problems, provide plant engineering services and expertise to the Maintenance and Production Departments and maintain or improve efficient operation of equipment and facilities.
Specify, design, construct and supervise installation of new and modified systems to meet operating requirements and increase overall company profitability.
Maintain accurate records and execute procedures to comply with governmental regulations and codes and insurance requirements.
Inspect drafting work assignments of the Engineering Department under intermittent supervision in accordance with established policies, procedures, schedules and specifications, exercising judgment in their application.
Act as a liaison with various equipment manufacturers, contractors and vendors to resolve specific design or operational problems.
Categorize and update building plans, machinery plans, books, records and equipment specifications in order to create and maintain a current reference library.
Work with Maintenance and Production Supervisors on a daily basis for specific requests which are to be brought to the Facilities group for discussion and follow-through
Maintain and adhere to ISO standards, including but not limited to, the Quality Policy Statement as well as the Quality Control Procedures Manual.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Environmental Engineering, or related field
Engineering experience in the steel and iron foundry industry is a plus
Knowledge of environmental regulatory activities
Excellent written and oral communication skills
