Responsibilities

Oversee onsite Field Engineers.
Schedule the Quality Control Team.
Interact with subcontractors as required.
Responsible for maintenance of the project schedule including materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
Place orders for materials and ensure delivery.
Create and send all transmittal letters and keep a log of dates sent, returned, and approved.
Schedule and arrange for equipment moves on and off the job.
Responsible for billing.
Prepare change orders and claims for review by Project Manager.
Compare results with previous budgets, including verification of all monthly accruals, revenue, and costs.
Define/optimizes the means and methods for the project with the Project Manager.
Maintain and revise contract documents.
Ensure that the administrative and accounting information from the field is reliable.
Participate in the final acceptance of the project with the Project Manager.
Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment.

Required

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent work experience)
5+ years as a Construction Scheduling Engineer or in a Project Controls position
Emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges preferred
Basic engineering knowledge in civil engineering
Advanced PC skills including proficiency in various software such as Excel, Bluebeam, Plangrid Primavera P6, Heavy Job, and SAP
Familiarity with construction industry practices
Ability to understand and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees
Physical ability to sit and/or stand for at least eight hours per day, lift at least 25 pounds, carry up to 15 pounds, stoop, bend, walk, crouch, climb, work at heights up to 60 feet, climb ladders, scaffolds, and stair towers, walk on uneven surfaces, work in varying weather conditions, and work a flexible schedule based on project needs
Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Continuous mental attention to complete tasks efficiently
Exposure to dust, dirt, grease, and noise
Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds
Work outdoors in all weather conditions
Work near heavy equipment and moving machinery
Work in an environment with high levels of noise, grease, and dust
Work with substances commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel, and ready mixed concrete
