Responsibilities

Support engineering efforts by addressing safety and quality concerns, completing mechanical design/documentation, supporting production, purchasing, and service team members, solving problems to meet team goals, and reviewing the work of others on the team.
Improve the team and create a culture of quality and improvement by developing and maintaining mechanical engineering standards and identifying/documenting standard work.
Provide customer support including on-site visits.
Design mechanical/electrical components and systems, acquire quotes for components and integrate into design, align designs with customer and internal requirements, communicate technical details to engineers and non-engineers, coordinate with Technical Writing and CAD/Drafting department, provide technical support to team members and customers, utilize engineering skillset to solve complex problems, create process documentation to increase efficiency, promote Lean Enterprise, and support Power Test Lean objectives.

Required

Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
3D Design Experience (Ideally on SolidWorks)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities (including design analysis tools such as FEA)
Strong math and computer skills
Manufacturing Process knowledge
Able to learn and use internal business systems
Exemplary organizational skills with attention to detail

Preferred

5+ years of designing or servicing dynamometer systems with an emphasis on control systems
Experience in drawing and document version control
Experience in SolidWorks/Electrical/ePDM
Extensive knowledge of engine and vehicle testing requirements and practices
