Responsibilities
Work in conjunction with licensed engineers assisting with the design and preparation of a variety of commercial, industrial, energy, water/wastewater and community projects throughout the Midwest.
Coordinate with fellow MSG staff across a variety of services sectors including: Surveying, Geotechnical, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, Site Construction, etc.
Leading the preparation of transportation design plans/3D modeling for local agency transportation and/or municipal utility projects.
Perform and check various design calculations and performing various tasks as they relate to preparing a design package.
Providing technical expertise/guidance to junior staff
Preparing special provisions, front end feasibility documents, due diligence reports and zoning studies, project development, storm water modeling and design, cost estimates and detailed design plans

Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
EI certification in the state of Michigan, with the ability to obtain PE certification within 6 to 12 months
Experience with industry design standards (e.g. MDOT, AASHTO, MUTCD, etc.)
Understanding of guidelines and specifications
Knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D grading is required
Preferred
Proficiency in independent preparation of Hydraulic/Hydrologic reports
Roadway design and survey experience are a plus
