Responsibilities
Contribute directly to design and engineering of renewable energy, and cleantech projects as well as managing third-party consulting engineers
Oversee contracted engineering firms as the “Owner’s engineer”
Enforce design and engineering equipment and construction standards
Collaborate with development and finance to assess potential projects’ feasibility and construction complexity
Oversee full project life cycle and work with engineering partners to develop preliminary engineering plans
Work with EPC’s and third-party engineers to develop final engineering plans to internal standards
Provide technical guidance and support on matters relating to solar technology, focusing on rooftop, ground-mounted fixed-tilt and single-axis tracker systems
Review project deliverables to ensure all local and national code, utility interconnection requirements, and client requests are met, along with SOW items per contract
Conduct, coordinate, and review energy production estimates using PVsyst and Helioscope
Travel for work up to 30% as needed and depending on home location

Required
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
At least 5+ years of energy system design experience with 3+ years designing C&I Rooftop Solar systems and small (1-10MW) ground-mount systems
Experience managing a large portfolio of projects while prioritizing effectively, managing competing expectations, and meeting deadlines
Experience with PV design tools including Helioscope, PVSyst, and AutoCAD
Proficient with Procore, project management, energy modeling, and MS Office programs
A creative and entrepreneurial approach to solving energy/carbon use optimization problems
Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills
Travel for work up to 30% as needed and depending on home location
Preferred
Master’s degree
Experience with energy efficiency, CHP, fuel cells, or other carbon reduction technologies
Engineer in Training (EIT) in electrical, mechanical, or civil
