Responsibilities

Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring all aspects of the project scope are considered.

Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents to prepare comprehensive cost analyses for projects including multifamily residential buildings, industrial facilities, healthcare centers, and educational institutions.

Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain pricing and input for various project components.

Prepare and present cost proposals, ensuring alignment with budget expectations and project requirements.

Review and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers, assessing their qualifications and costs to ensure the most accurate estimates are submitted.

Monitor cost variances during project execution and assist project teams in managing the budget throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Stay current on industry trends, construction material costs, and labor rates to ensure estimates are competitive and accurate.

Required

5+ years of experience as an estimator, ideally within the commercial construction sector, working on projects such as multifamily, industrial, healthcare, higher education, and other commercial builds.

Strong experience in preparing cost estimates for large-scale projects within these sectors.

Proficiency in estimating software.

Knowledge of construction processes, contract structures, and cost management.

Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with project teams and external stakeholders.
