Responsibilities

The incumbent coordinates fire mitigation projects in relation to ROW Operations and Maintenance, develops recreational sites, and vegetation.
Provides independent leadership, direction, advice, assistance, and guidance as necessary to complete projects in accordance with policy.
Coordinates with the Deputy State Fire Management Officer of Fuels and Planning, and the District Resource and Fuels Program Managers to accomplish planning, implementation and NEPA compliance.
Develops methods for solving new, unpredictable, and unprecedented problems, constraints, situations, and issues and consults with leadership on solutions.
Establishes and maintains a professional, effective, and impartial relationship with Federal, State, and local agencies, entities, and organizations.
Tracks, monitors, and oversees all current and proposed projects; is responsible for coordinating changes in the project scope, time, and/or amount through the preparation and decision of issue-specific decision memoranda.
Formulates projects, develops objectives, and completes the required level of NEPA for each project.
Leads an interdisciplinary team to assure NEPA and policy compliance on fire mitigation projects.

Required

U.S. Citizenship is required.
You cannot hold an active real estate license: nor can you have an interest or hold stocks in firms with interest in Federal Lands.
Direct Deposit Required.
Appointment will be subject to a favorably adjudicated background/suitability investigation/determination.
Your resume must contain enough information to show that you meet the qualification requirements as defined in the announcement.
You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity.
Experience leading a team through the full range of the project lifecycle: Initiation, Planning and Implementation.
Experience following BLM policy to develop a BLM organizational structure and associated documents for consideration by Headquarters.
Experience identifying and assigning project tasks based on the skill sets, experience, and strengths of staff members.
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604.
There are no qualification requirements for a detail assignment.
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications.
