Responsibilities

Organize and support the execution of high-impact projects, including meeting management, creation of deliverables, and proactive client communication.
Assist with the development of high-quality written material, including presentation decks, policy papers, fact sheets, talking points, and collateral material on a range of SNAP-related policy and advocacy topics.
Support training, technical assistance, and coaching conversations with state-level advocates and application assisters operating in a wide range of political environments.
Ensure that project details and associated tasks are effectively tracked and updated in our project management system (ClickUp). Proactively identify next steps and potential project challenges. Independently explore and present creative solutions.
Establish and maintain productive client relationships, providing updates throughout the project and following up on outstanding items to ensure deliverables are completed on time.

Required

3+ years of work experience in local, state, or federal policy advocacy and/or public benefits application assistance.
Significant SNAP policy knowledge (e.g. from serving as a SNAP application assister, caseworker, or policy professional)
Superior public speaking, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to organize information and materials, build and maintain efficient processes, and bring a wide range of tasks to completion in order to consistently meet hard deadlines
The ability to brainstorm possible solutions to client problems, navigate through uncertainty, and take action amidst ambiguity
A passion for social justice, a commitment to racial equity, and a successful track record of overcoming barriers to get things done
Critical thinking skills and a willingness to listen, ask questions, bring fresh ideas, and learn from others with different life experiences
Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Drive/Sheets/Forms), Zoom, virtual scheduling tools (Calendly), and project management tools (ClickUp)
Reliable, high-speed internet access that can support video chat (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx) and the ability to work remotely
