Responsibilities

Assist senior staff across departments in conducting complex analyses and research projects.
Participate in field sampling activities to collect wastewater samples.
Compile and analyze data to identify trends and potential issues in the treatment process.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, plant operators, and others.
Assist senior staff in designing and conducting experiments to achieve project goals.
Conduct routine laboratory analyses of wastewater influent, effluent, and biosolids in accordance with established protocols and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and maintain accurate laboratory records, including data analysis and reporting.
Collect, record, and analyze data using scientific software and tools.
Prepare reports and presentations to communicate research findings to colleagues and stakeholders.
Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks and research documentation.
Stay current with scientific literature and advancements relevant to the project area.
Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment following manufacturer's specifications and best practices.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment according to laboratory and field safety protocols.
May assist with development and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Contribute to a positive and collaborative research environment.
Synthesize and summarize relevant literature for a diverse audience.

Required

Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
Requires a master’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field.
Requires a minimum of one (1) year of related experience.
Strong fundamental understanding of scientific principles and research methodologies.
Excellent attention to detail.
Proficiency in data analysis using software like excel, R, etc.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage projects with minimum oversight.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
