Responsibilities
Analyze RFPs to understand client requirements and craft tailored, persuasive proposals that align with Khamai’s mission and services.
Develop a narrative that highlights Khamai’s experience, value proposition, and team expertise.
Create a standardized system for proposal writing, including workflows, research timelines, and task assignments.
Establish templates for proposal sections, including scope of work, budgets, and team biographies.
Work closely with Khamai’s leadership and team members to gather relevant project data and ensure proposals are accurate and comprehensive.
Coordinate with the assistant for research support and additional administrative tasks.
Conduct market research to identify trends and strategies for competitive proposal submissions.
Stay updated on industry standards and best practices in proposal writing.
Proofread and edit proposals to ensure professionalism, clarity, and alignment with client expectations.

Required
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in proposal writing, preferably in nonprofit, government, or consulting sectors
Demonstrated success in securing grants or contracts through well-crafted proposals
Strong written communication and storytelling skills
Ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
Familiarity with nonprofit and government funding processes and RFPs
Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) and project management tools
Must have reliable transportation, internet access, and a computer/laptop
Preferred
Experience working on equity-focused or community-driven projects
A Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field is preferred but not required
