Responsibilities
Understand and anticipate customers' business needs to build working prototypes.
Align customer requirements with AWS service teams' roadmaps to drive the AWS platform.
Identify and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solutions architect community through industry conferences and publications.
Contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers, tutorials, and blogs.
Travel required, generally 25%.

Required
8+ Years as a Solutions Architect / Software Development Engineer OR 12+ years programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, C# or Python
Experience building large-scale software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end software systems and all points in between
Preferred
Professional experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
History of successful technical sales consulting and architecture engagements (i.e. working prototype solutions, POCs)
Ability to deliver high quality documents paying attention to detail
Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT management, and engineers
Excellent communication skills with the ability to right level the conversation
Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
