Responsibilities

Develop and schedule content for Springfield WORKS’ social media channels, helping to amplify our voice and other voices of lived experience.
Assist in drafting, editing, and distributing the organization newsletter, focusing on program highlights, fundraising updates, and core partner success stories.
Support stakeholder engagement by developing informational materials and assisting with outreach initiatives.
Conduct research to inform Springfield WORKS’ initiatives, with a focus on economic mobility and workforce equity programs, notable trends in public policy, and other topics related to our mission.
Assist in information gathering and data collection from local partners and Springfield WORKS programs to support ongoing communications and reporting.
Draft and edit memos, briefs, and other written materials to effectively communicate our priorities.
Support the implementation of Springfield WORKS’ legislative and administrative advocacy strategies in state and national level coalitions, including the Economic Pathways Coalition MA and National Beyond the Cliff Coalition.
Assist in tracking relevant legislation and regulations related to our programs and policy priorities.
Help to advance our advocacy goals by participating in strategy calls, drafting materials for legislative briefings and other events, and taking part in our work with coalition partners.

Required

Graduate student or recently graduated from undergrad with a focus in public policy, communications, political science, sociology, or a related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools such as Canva or Adobe Express; experience with social media strategy a plus.
Basic research and analytical skills; ability to synthesize information into accessible formats for various audiences and community stakeholders.
Understanding of or interest in equitable workforce development, economic mobility, racial equity, and public policy advocacy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
