Responsibilities

Quality Testing and Analysis: Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. Ensure compliance with specifications and identify deviations.
Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of testing activities, update SOPs, and assist in quality issue investigations.
Compliance and Regulation: Stay updated on food safety regulations and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Continuous Improvement: Identify process improvement opportunities and collaborate with teams for corrective actions.
Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate with stakeholders, participate in audits, and address quality concerns.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a quality control role within the food industry.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality assurance principles, and laboratory testing methods.
Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and analytical tools.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Applicants should be adaptable and able to work flexible hours to accommodate plant work activities, as needed.

Preferred

Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Proficiency in SAP for inventory and quality management.
Familiarity with Intelex for environmental, health, and safety management.
Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) methodologies.
Critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex problems and implement effective solutions.
Excellent writing skills with the ability to convey technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and statistical analysis software.
Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GLP (Good Laboratory Practices).
Certification in food safety (e.g., SQF, BRC) is a plus.
Certified in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
Certified in Preventive Controls for Human Food (PCHF).
