Responsibilities
Lead quality assurance for complex scientific instrument assembly, including inspection of incoming components, assembly processes, and final product validation
Develop and implement quality control procedures for cryogenic subsystems
Conduct failure analysis investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for manufacturing failures
Collaborate with external suppliers, engineering teams, and stakeholders to establish and maintain quality metrics for system performance and reliability
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the reliability of cryogenic systems and associated hardware
Create and maintain specifications for cryogenic components and materials, ensuring compliance with system requirements
Monitor and report on key quality metrics

Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, physics, or related field
5+ years of professional experience in quality engineering
Understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and cryogenic system design principles
Preferred
10+ years industry experience in manufacturing quality control
Familiarity with failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and 8D reporting
Hands-on experience with dilution refrigerators or pulse tube cryocoolers
Hands-on experience with vacuum systems and leak detection
Hands-on experience with cryogenic temperature measurement and control
Hands-on experience with materials selection for cryogenic applications
Knowledge of quantum computing hardware requirements and constraints
