Responsibilities

Produces rail design project tasks including geometric design, civil and drainage design

Collects field data, documenting and reporting field conditions and findings.

Produces 2D concept plans and schematics and confidently communicates rail design options to the project team.

Produces 3D rail designs using Civil3D or OpenRail to verify project requirements are met and project is viable

Performs first round quality assurance/quality control of other team member’s work

Performs mentorship of junior team members

Assists with completion of field work.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; required

EIT or FE required

1 to 4 years of experience in transportation or rail/transit engineering

MicroStation / GEOPAK or AutoCAD / Civil 3D experience required

Microsoft Office software experience

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record

Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)

Availability and willingness to travel

All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Preferred

OpenRoad / OpenRail design software experience, preferred

Experience with AREMA, Class 1 railroad, and/or commuter rail/transit agency design criteria and standards, preferred

PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months, preferred
