Regional Sales Manager

Responsibilities
Develop a comprehensive sales plan for the assigned region focusing on achievement of region sales objectives.
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
Conduct field visits to assist the sales team and drive demand for AFX products (field visits should account for 50%-60% of RSM work time)
Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
Represents company at trade association meetings, distributor functions, and client functions to promote the product.
Delivers sales presentations to key clients.
Provide sales and technical coaching to the sales team to ensure that sales individuals have requisite skills to achieve sales goals
Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships, negotiating, and closing deals.
Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research, development work, and field issues.

Required
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred.
3-5 years related industry experience and/or training.
3+ years of experience selling specification lighting luminaires and controls products through agents and distribution preferred
Proficient w/ MS Office applications (word, excel.ppt).
Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred
Prior experience as a Regional/District Sales Manager preferred
