Responsibilities

Managing relationships with sales agencies to drive sales growth
Assuming full management responsibility for all Regional Sales programs, services, and activities to grow the business by creating value for customers and developing own territory
Developing area sales network and pipeline
Executing the Company’s sales plan in support of company goals and regional objectives
Being a relationship manager for existing customers, playing an important role in developing and maintaining the company's image and reputation in the marketplace
Assessing customer plans and requirements on an ongoing basis from a technical, business, tactical, and strategic perspective
Providing technical assistance with internal technical resources to existing customers to troubleshoot product issues
Collaborating with the product development division
Recommending new market/product development opportunities and needs
Communicating special customization requests to the product division
Identifying new sales opportunities to achieve sales expansion through a variety of prospecting activities including networking, prospecting, conducting on-site sales calls, cold calling
Following up on sales leads received by the Company
Converting prospects into sales by differentiating from the competition
Developing, proposing, and taking proactive steps to build positive relationships with key business and industry leaders, partners, vendors, etc., while participating in trade shows, conferences, meetings, and any other community-based activities
Providing timely and detailed information on market needs, buying trends, and competitive information
Collaborating with marketing to develop a comprehensive strategic business plan for short and long-term
Managing opportunities to meet or exceed annual sales goals
Delivering and tracking performance metrics, trends, updates, and reports
Managing complex, sensitive customer service issues and providing expert guidance in all aspects of order fulfillment
Identifying opportunities for improvement and strategies to execute solutions within the existing business model and channels
Traveling and field training with customers, alongside reps
Providing customer support and support to sales reps
Serving as part of a cohesive, nationwide team of RSMs with the common goal of improving the company and delivering strong sales growth

Required

Drive, energy, integrity, and industry experience needed to excel in a competitive environment
Experience in sales in the electrical distribution industry – not necessarily lighting
Based in Boston, Washington DC, or Philadelphia and ready to travel
Eager to learn the product portfolio and existing customer base, and forward-thinking about opportunities, customers, and the market in general
