Responsibilities

Create kinematic models of deformation and run model simulations in Pecube, Cascade, or Fastscape.

Analyze the output of model simulations and maintain accurate documentation of model runs and results.

Quantitatively link kinematics to thermal advection-diffusion models and surface process models.

Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and demonstrate proficiency in Matlab or Python.

Collaborate with the Tectonics group to study compressional mountains' geometry, kinematic evolution, and topographic development.

Required

Ph.D. in Geoscience with a focus on tectonics and/or surface processes

Experience in kinematic restoration and/or a background in quantitative geomorphology

Publication record in peer-reviewed journals

Proficiency in Matlab or Python

Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills

Ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in support of a diverse community

Preferred

Experience working on integrating deformation, exhumation, and landscape evolution

Experience in creating kinematic models of deformation, running model simulations in Pecube, Cascade, or Fastscape, and analyzing the output
