Responsibilities

Generating diverse libraries of enzyme variants through various mutagenesis methods.
Expressing recombinant protein in high-throughput (HTP) and shake flask scale.
Assisting in developing relevant enzyme assays in HTP format.
Executing HTP screens to evaluate enzyme performance under application-relevant conditions, using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, CE, HPLC, GC, LC-MS or GC-MS methods to quantify relevant products.
Managing large data sets and communicating results to a multidisciplinary team.
Maintaining a safe and efficient workplace, following safe lab practices and organizing lab environment.
Keeping diligent records and writing reports and SOPs.

Required

BS or MS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or related scientific field.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a laboratory environment.
Knowledge and interest in molecular biology, protein biochemistry and enzymology.
Experience with documentation, record keeping, writing SOPs and reports.

Preferred

Knowledge of recombinant protein expression techniques within bacterial systems.
Experience with/understanding analytical techniques.
Familiarity/interest in lab automation equipment.
