Responsibilities
Implement strategies to improve billing efficiency, reduce claim denials, and accelerate payment collection
Oversee the end-to-end billing process, including claims submission, payment processing, and client invoicing.
Streamline processes, optimize workflows, and leverage technology to enhance the revenue cycle's overall performance.
Manage team of 2 overseeing accuracy in coding (e.g., CPT codes and modifiers) for dietitian services and telehealth visits.
Monitor and address denials or discrepancies in claims and re-submit as necessary.
Credentialing dietitian staff with insurance payers and necessary state licenses.
Monitor dietitian licensure and expiration dates.
Manage and track accounts receivable to ensure timely payments.
Generate and analyze financial reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Proactively follow up on unpaid claims and outstanding balances.
Collaborate with insurance companies to verify coverage, resolve disputes, and ensure accurate reimbursements.
Stay informed on changes in telehealth and nutrition-related billing regulations.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations related to billing and financial data.
Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reporting.
Train and support patient care coordinators, dietitians and administrative staff on billing protocols and tools.
Communicate clearly with clients regarding billing questions and payment plans.

Required
Proven experience in Revenue Cycle Management and/or Billing Manager or in a similar role within the healthcare or telehealth industry.
Strong understanding of medical billing, coding, and insurance claims processes (knowledge of nutrition and telehealth billing preferred).
Proficiency with billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Candid a plus.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to analyze financial data and generate actionable insights.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and insurance providers.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance standards.
Preferred
Experience working in a telehealth environment or with a dietitian group practice.
Certification in Medical Billing or Coding (e.g., CMRS, CPC).
Familiarity with telehealth-specific billing guidelines and insurance trends.
