Responsibilities
Verifies patients as uninsured or identifies and updates coverage appropriately
Actively participates in departmental quality by making a personal effort to reduce individual errors, and making corrections
Review/Create Hospital and Physician estimates within the Epic Patient Estimator
Responsible for documenting and explaining benefit breakdown and out of pocket costs for patient understanding

Required
High school diploma or GED.
Two (2) years of experience in Hospital or Physician Insurance related activities (Authorization, Billing, Follow-Up, Call-Center, or Collections).
Knowledge regarding HB and PB billing and procedures.
Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
Preferred
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent listening skills, and organizational skills.
Customer Service/Training experience.
Knowledge of UB-04, HCFA-1500’s and Explanation of Benefits (EOB) interpretation.
Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes.
Knowledge of insurance billing, collections and insurance terminology.
Computer knowledge: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
