Responsibilities
Oversee the AR team to ensure timely and accurate processing of claims and follow-up activities.
Monitor AR aging reports, identify outstanding balances, and develop strategies for reducing days in AR.
Implement best practices to optimize collections and minimize bad debt write-offs.
Analyze denial trends to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Lead efforts to streamline denial resolution processes, ensuring timely resubmissions and appeals.
Develop denial prevention strategies through training, system enhancements, and collaboration with clinical and coding teams.
Oversee insurance follow-up activities to ensure proper reimbursement from third-party payers.
Establish and maintain payer relationships to resolve payment issues and ensure adherence to contract terms.
Track payer performance and implement improvement initiatives for timely and accurate claims processing.
Supervise, mentor, and train a team of AR specialists, denial analysts, and insurance follow-up staff.
Set performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and foster a collaborative team environment.
Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills in claims processing and denials management.
Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators to drive process improvements in the revenue cycle.
Provide regular updates to senior management on AR, denials, and collections metrics.
Lead projects to optimize revenue cycle efficiency, including system implementations and workflow enhancements.

Required
Must live in the United States
5+ years of experience in revenue cycle management, with a focus on AR, denials, and insurance follow-up.
Must have experience managing revenue cycle operations in a multi-unit setting or within a large Management Services Organization (MSO). Ophthalmology experience is a major plus!
Experience in multi-specialty clinics, ambulatory care, or hospital settings.
Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding, and payer guidelines.
Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Practice Management systems (e.g., Epic, eClinicalWorks).
Proficient in analyzing AR aging reports, denial rates, and reimbursement trends.
Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
