Responsibilities
Provides general support to the Risk Management Program.
Maintains Risk Management data and report files.
Maintains knowledge of laws and regulations including changes which could affect the organization.
May direct or participate in the review of critical incident and sentinel events.
Works with various departments to support them in completing activities associated with Risk Management.
Reviews the use of Safety Intervention for appropriateness of use.
Infection Control
Participates in the activities of surveillance, prevention and control of infections.
Assists with implementation of standards from Joint Commission, CDC, OSHA to involved areas.
Coordinates the monitoring of infection rates, trends, data analysis and follow-up.
Safety
Participates and/or facilitates the Agency's Safety Committees.
Participates in the development of safety policies, procedures, while ensuring adherence with Joint Commission, HIPAA, and State regulations
Risk Management
Participates in the collections and tracking of incident reports.
Works closely with the Risk Manager and may direct or participate in the review of grievances, critical incident reviews, sentinel events and internal investigations.
Completes data gathering, tracking and trending, analysis of findings, and presenting
Coordinates performance improvement plans to include monitoring of improvement measures as needed.
Assists with preparation, coordination and presentation of risk management improvement agency training.
Cooperatively works as a team member with the ability to work well with supervisors and co-workers.
Participates in agency committees and Risk programs as designated.
Utilizes appropriate Infection Control procedures.
May be required to travel.
Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all Recovery Innovations policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.

Required
Bachelor's degree in Social Services or Health Related field or; RN/LPN license, or; equivalent work experience.
One (1) year experience in risk management environment.
Knowledge and experience with personal computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, statistical analysis, and graphics.
Knowledge and understanding of the concepts of Continuous Process Improvement and related regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of infection control practices, regulatory and licensure standards, risk management and safety desirable.
Valid driver's license with clean driving record as determined by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Must be able to comply with the Organizations Driver's Safety policy.
By employment date, may need to pass pre-placement physical examination.
Satisfactory results of background clearance. (as contractually required)
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training.
Therapeutic Options (TO) physical safety intervention training.
May be required to pass multi-state criminal Background Check.
Understands and adheres to RI International compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
Must be at least 18 years or older.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.
Must be able to pass a seven-year background check.
Must be able to pass substance abuse testing and/or tuberculous testing (if applicable).
Must be able to pass education verification check.
Must be able to pass three-year motor vehicle report and meet minimum eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier (if driving is required for this position).
